Tiger Stationery -
Ethical & Environmental policies
Tiger Stationery Ltd. is a distributor of stationery products throughout the UK, Ireland, Europe and parts of the rest of the world.
Tiger stationery does not manufacture single use plastic products for sale. We try to minimise the use of single use plastics where at all possible, within the manufacturing cycle-such as packaging etc. All of our plastic products are manufactured to last a significant length of time and are for multi & continued use over many years by the consumer. Where the technical ability allows, we are developing products, using a biodegradable polypropylene additive, that will allow the product to biodegrade at the end of its useful life. We also use recycled polypropylene in the manufacturing process where its does not affect the quality or durability of the product.
Our company policy is to ensure that none of the products sold are known to cause unacceptable damage to the environment. Where at all possible we are using environmentally sustainable & friendly raw materials and packaging.
Specifically we will strive to ensure that:
Product and packaging waste used in manufacturing will be kept to a commercial minimum. All packaging we use is to ensure the product arrives at the customer in a fit state.
The continued use of polypropylene to replace PVC in our filing ranges and other product range is maintained.
Packaging materials are recycled where possible. We indicate on packaging what the customer can do with it in terms of its recyclability.
The Company complies with all local and national environmental legislation and exceeds minimum standard where possible.
We work closely with suppliers and customers to improve conservation of energy and natural resources, the control of noise levels, recycling of waste material and the utilisation of non-polluting technology.
In conjunction with our environment, human resources and health and safety policies our ethical policy covers the following key areas:
Suppliers: We will not source products from any factory who operates under an oppressive regime or where the principles of the UDHR (Universal Declaration of Human Rights) are not adhered to.
We monitor our partner factories closely and audit once per year.
Global Trade: We support the Fundamental International Labour Organisation Conventions which cover accepted standards with regard to child labour, collective bargaining and freedom of association. All of our partner factories go well above these minimum requirements and often no one is employed under the age of 18 years old.
Conflict of Interest: We do not permit bribery and require employees to seek to avoid conflicts of interest and advise where any exist. We will not solicit or encourage the receipt of gifts or hospitality.
Records: We will maintain sales, purchase and financial records in an accurate, complete and transparent manner. No unrecorded funds or assets will be established or maintained.
All taxes are paid in the UK and within the spirit of the law.
Data Protection: We will comply fully with the Data Protection Act and any other relevant legislation.
